Impact Gameworks announced that their game Tangledeep, the 16-bit inspired RPG, is set to graduate from Early Access on February 1st. The game is also scheduled to release at some point in the second quarter of 2018 for the Nintendo Switch.

Tangledeep originally launched into Early Access last year back on July 17th, 2017 and managed to receive the typical updates and upgrades leading up to its upcoming release on February 1st.

The game is an isometric, hack-and-slash RPG, themed after classics like Terranigma и Секрет Маны. Players take on the role of a warrior attempting to conquer an ever-changing labyrinth where impossible challenges await and few ever survive. Your goal is to reach the top of the labyrinth to see what lies above, thus setting in motion a rogue-like adventure that requires players to adapt and grow by adopting new classes, evolving your skillset and eventually overcoming the odds.

It’s kind of weird but uses old-school CRPG movement and combat turns for the battle system. You’ll be able to make use of 12 different job classes that each have their own unique skillsets for you to master, with 100 in total.

There are three game modes, where players will have to avoid succumbing to permadeath during their journey. There’s also an Adventure Mode so players who would prefer to play casually can do so.

The main character’s running animations look a little weird, but the core concept seems pretty decent.

The soundtrack is also put together by Andrew Aversa, Hiroki Kikuta, Grant Kirkhope, and Norihiko Hibino, famed composers who worked on games such as Civilization: Beyond Earth, Metal Gear Solid 3, и Секрет Маны назвать несколько.
